The episode started off with Rob hanging out with his family for the first time in a while. When the topic of grandmother Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon’s birthday comes up, Khloé asked her brother if he still planned on going.
“I can’t go to the horse races. I don’t want to wear this shirt and shorts and sandals,” he admitted to her. “I don’t feel comfortable… because of my weight. I might go, I might not.”
“It’s your grandmother’s 82nd birthday, how could you not come?” the 32-year-old asked him.
“I don’t know,” Rob replied.
A clearly annoyed Khloé then told the cameras, “Obviously I know clothes is a big deal, but I want Rob to come and push himself and make those memories.”
Later on in the episode, Kim got involved and decided to call Rob and try to get him to go to their grandmother’s birthday party.
“We can find a stylist to get you stuff,” Kim, 36, told her brother about his wardrobe. “I think you have to, for your own soul, [you need to] be getting up and getting dressed and get motivated.”
After listening to his sister, Rob agreed. He also told Kim that he would go to MJ’s birthday party under one condition, if she could get him a stylist and a new set of clothes.
Happy with how the phone call went, Khloé went over to Rob’s house to help him pick out outfits that Kim’s stylists sent over.
“Do you want to try on a pair of jeans?” Khloé asked him.
“I’m just more comfortable in the baseball hat and sweat shorts and sandals,” the 29-year-old told her.
“I’m confused by how Rob’s acting,” Khloé told the camera during her interview. “His complaint was that he didn’t have clothes. He’s not even willing to try on anything.”
Problems continued throughout the episode with Rob. He went on a deleting spree and deleted everyone from his Instagram, including his family and Chyna. Then when MJ’s birthday party rolled around, Rob was a no-show.
“If you don’t want to come, say you don’t come. Stop making excuses,” Kim told mom Kris Jenner at the beginning of the party. “That’s what pisses me off about him.”
“It really makes me sad when Rob misses any event, especially a family event,” Kris, 60, said during her on-camera interview. “But I need to be as positive as possible to make my mom happy.”
Though Rob didn’t show up, Chyna decided to still go.
“It’s so nice that Chyna made this effort to come down and spend my grandmother’s birthday with us,” Kim said during her interview.
During the dinner, the family found out the Rob had blocked them all on Instagram.
“This is how he’s been for the last three years,” Kim told Chyna, 28. “I don’t even know what the answer is.”
After the party, all three sisters decided enough was enough and got together with Rob in order to discuss their issues with him.
“Rob, why did you disappear,” Khloé asked her brother.
“I just didn’t want to hear from anyone regarding anything… I went to Vegas instead,” he admitted. “I just didn’t feel like going because me and Chyna got into a disagreement. So, she just gave me a reason to not want to go to with her to San Diego.”
Rob then admitted that he didn’t tell his sisters about the fight with Chyna, because things always wind up getting a bit out of hand with his siblings.
“Like, with you guys, it just gets very dramatic,” he told them.
“If Rob feels that we are really dramatic and judgmental, I feel like we all have to take heed to that,” Khloé said during her interview. “What’s done is done. I’m just happy Rob is now able to talk to us about things. I hope Rob knows that he doesn’t have to block every family member that exists.”
