It’s a whole new Vicki Gunvalson!
Bravo’s original Housewife returned to the airwaves Monday night on the season 8 premiere of The Real Housewives of Orange County. And she looks a little different.
“I’m all about renovating everything right now, whether it’s my body or my home,” she said on the show. “And I decided, what can I do to build my self-esteem?”
So, she revealed, she got a nip and a tuck from costar Alexis Bellino‘s plastic surgeon.
“I did some cartilage reconstruction on my nose,” she said. “I had some fat injected in the upper part of my cheeks so I don’t have any more wrinkles. And I did a little chin implant.”
A new grandma, Gunvalson (whose daughter Briana and son-in-law Ryan welcomed a baby boy, Troy, on the show) also explained her reasons for going under the knife.
“I was ridiculed that I look like a certain character,” she said, referring to costar Gretchen Rossi’s boyfriend Slade Smiley‘s joke about Miss Piggy. “And it does hurt me. It did offend me.”
Soon after the surgery, Gunvalson still wasn’t feeling quite herself: “My face is still really numb. I feel like one of those Muppets where half of [the head] moved and half of it didn’t,” she said.
Still, she was prepared to face her costars and hear their reactions: “I’ve not told any of the other women about my surgery,” she said on Orange County, which airs Mondays (8 p.m. ET) on Bravo. “I know I’m going to be talked about. If they want to say something, say it to my face – my numb face.”
Following the season premiere of Orange County, Gunvalson appeared on Andy Cohen’s talk show Watch What Happens Live, where she revealed her new look now that the surgery has “settled.”
“Hopefully it doesn’t look any different,” she said. “I just kind of closed my eyes and said just do what you think is going to look good and they did it.”
