It didn’t take long for Annabelle Goetke to learn that getting fit doesn’t translate to instant fashion savvy.
“When you’re overweight you have this idea in your head that if I could just lose the weight, everything will be perfect. But I have never gotten familiar with how to dress my new shape,” says Goetke, 26, who lost 174 lbs. after getting serious about diet and exercise.
That’s why PEOPLE and TLC teamed up to give Goetke a fashion makeover for the special New Body, New Style, which airs on Jan. 2. With the help of PEOPLE’s Style and Beauty Director Andrea Lavinthal and show host Mary Alice Stephenson, Goetke was treated to a day of pampering and expert styling.
It was all a dream come true for Goetke, who once tipped the scales at 328 lbs. but now, at 154 lbs., has become so masterful at creating healthy recipes that she posts them on Instagram to share with her 2,600 followers.
“The shoot was an incredible experience, and my style was captured perfectly,” she says. “I absolutely loved the outfits. I felt feminine and sexy while still maintaining a sense of elegance.”
Stephenson also helped 40-year-old Lori Nasatka dress her slimmed-down silhouette – after dropping 120 lbs. from her 240 lb. frame. Once reluctant to even leave her home, Nasatka was given the tools to feel fabulous just in time for a big corporate event.
Armed with their new looks, Goetke and Nasatka are both fitness – and fashion – inspirations.
