It’s finale time on CBS’s Live to Dance, and Paula Abdul has sympathy for the voters who will choose a winner among six impressive acts.
“It’s a tough problem for America. It’s been tough for me,” Abdul says. “But I’m really proud that the show culminated with this because it proves that we have some really credible acts.”
Finalists range from classically trained ballet duo White Tree Fine Art to the 38-member upbeat dance production The Vibe.
On Paula’s short list? “Dancetown Chaos along with D’Angelo and Amanda are the two to beat,” she says. “And Kendall Glover [the competition’s only solo act] – those three are close to perfection.”
The winning act will take home a check for $500,000 and, Paula hopes, a chance to shine in the professional dancing world.
“Dance is a tough profession,” she says. “In the blink of an eye an injury can happen that sidelines you and keeps you from achieving what you want to achieve. What I want for all of these acts, whether they win or not, is that they take away an amazing experience.”
The winner of Live to Dance will be announced Wednesday (8 p.m. ET) on CBS.
