First things first, Chase Adams (Laguna Beach alum Stephen Colletti), Brooke’s (Sophia Bush) former love interest (and Lauren Conrad‘s, Kristin Cavallari‘s and Hayden Panettiere‘s real-life ex-boyfriend) made a surprise re-appearance Tuesday on One Tree Hill. But this time he’s kissing Peyton (Hilarie Burton). What a flirt!
Aside from Chase’s return, there were family strifes galore: Nathan (James Lafferty) and Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) are divorcing, Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Lindsey shouldn’t be married, Brooke hates her mother, etc. But amid all the chaos, a quiet hero emerged when Skills Taylor (Antwon Tanner) became the babysitter to Nathan and Haley’s 4-year-old son, Jamie. He’s teaching the tyke to read, playing Guitar Hero with him, and counseling him on parents that don’t get along.
“Come on Jimmy Jam, I’ll rock with you,” Skills tells Jamie, when his parents can’t stop fighting long enough to play video games with with their son. Lucas and Lindsey’s party — intended to be a neutral meeting ground for Haley and Nathan — hardly makes a difference in their marriage. Skills even gets turned down by the depressed child but takes it all in stride.
“I’m amazed at how little he is because his heart is so big,” Skills tells Haley. “You know today all he wanted to do was make sure you all were a whole family again. That’s what today meant to him. And if you haven’t noticed, I think you all are the ones who have lost sight of things.” –Nicholas WhiteCW
