Kyle Richards threw it way back in honor of her longtime friend, Bethenny Frankel.

The Real Housewives stars are known for letting the world into their lavish lifestyles in Beverly Hills and New York City, respectively, but they met more than 20 years ago. In an Instagram post, Richards shared a very ’90s look at the duo as a tribute for Frankel’s 46th birthday on Friday.

“Happy birthday @bethennyfrankel friends for more than 2 decades …love you XXOO 1992,” Richards, 47, wrote in the post of their big hair and classic ’90s style.

In a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills clip, Richards explained how the dynamic duo met decades ago.

“When I first met Bethenny she was working at La Scala Boutique, a restaurant in Beverly Hills,” Richards said in one episode. “She came up to my table and was like, ‘Hi. I’m dating your ex-boyfriend.’ ”

Earlier this year, Richards and Frankel got together on-screen, as Frankel appeared — and shared her many opinions — in an episode of RHOBH.

After filming, Frankel told PEOPLE the women of Beverly Hills “more edited [and] controlled,” especially during her spat with Erika Girardi about her music video. She added that Richards and the other women who witnessed their opinionated remarks about Girardi’s video “all felt really similar to the way I felt but they were excited for me to be the one to say it.”
