After the suicide of Taylor Armstrong’s estranged husband, the only thing her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills castmates can do now is find a way to help her carry on, says costar Kyle Richards.
“I think that you really can’t bring any sense to something like this,” she told PEOPLE on Saturday at The Red CARpet Event at the Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles. “You can’t understand it, and I think that’s the hardest part.”
That then leaves only one option: supporting Armstrong and her daughter, Kennedy, says Richards, as the reality show continues with its second season.
“They’re very important to me, and to see them going through something like this is devastating to everyone,” she says. “I think that the only way to be there for them is to help them see that there will be light at the end of the tunnel at some point, and to just be there to listen and talk, because you can never understand something like this.”
Richards, 42, holds hope that Armstrong, 40, will somehow find the strength that she needs.
“As difficult, and as tragic as this is, life has to go on,” she says. “So, as a friend you just hope that you can be there for them and help them to get through something that, although she will never forget, she will eventually see that life has to go on because she is a mom.”
