Kristen Wiig Takes a Dig at Trump's Stance on Birth Control in Cut Saturday Night Live Sketch

Posted on

It wouldn’t be a Saturday Night Live sketch without a dig at Donald Trump, right?

Before her triumphant return to NBC’s sketch comedy show this past weekend, Kristen Wiig was slated to take aim at the president-elect and his stance on reproductive rights in a Thanksgiving-themed segment. Though the segment didn’t make it to air, NBC released the video on Monday.

In the kooky scene, Wiig plays Thanksgiving enthusiast Wisten Kriig as she gushes over her dinner dishes with her adoptive brother Marcus (Kenan Thompson) and her friend Russell (Bobby Moynihan).

“Do you like peas?” she asks, holding up a bowl of green pellets. “Not me. So these are just birth control pills painted green,”

Then she adds, “Donald Trump can’t take away what he can’t find.”

The punchline referenced a vow by Trump — who is embroiled in an ongoing war or words with the sketch show over guest star Alec Baldwin’s impersonation of him — to withhold federal funding from Planned Parenthood, which aids women seeking birth control, among other services.

Beyond the political commentary, Wisten Kriig’s Turkey Day spread is comprised of several questionable dishes, including rock-hard pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes made up with Mr. Potato Head accessories, and even a live tortoise.

She introduces perhaps the most unique dish of all by asking, “Have you heard of turducken? This is kind of like that. But I guess the technical term for this would be Tur-Snake-Dog.”

Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays (11:30 p.m. ET) on NBC.
