Kim Kardashian West‘s momager may get a cut of her daughter’s earnings, but that doesn’t mean she always has editorial approval over Kim’s choices.

During Thursday’s Architects of Change event at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, Maria Shriver asked Kris Jenner how she felt when seeing “scantily clad” shots of her daughters.

Jenner had one word: “Cringeworthy.”

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star had one image in mind: Her second daughter’s instantly obsessed-over 2014 #BreakTheInternet Paper magazine cover.

“Sometimes I don’t even know that they’re coming out,” continued Jenner, 60. “Like Kim did the picture with the [champagne coupe] on the booty, and I was like, ‘Where did this come from?’ I thought it was Photoshopped for a second.”

Jenner noted that she’s been firmer with her youngest daughters, 20-year-old Kendall and 18-year-old Kylie in the past: “I obviously know for the little ones because if they’re under age we have somebody at every shoot. But the older ones who are in their 30s, I feel like sometimes I don’t have to babysit.”

The mother of six also said she’d put her foot down “a couple of times. … I will scream from the top of my lungs: ‘I’m not happy with this.’ So yeah, they’ve heard my voice loud and clear if I don’t like something.”

And Jenner – who has been known to show a little skin for a photo shoot – she says her kids are “the same way with me. They’re very critical of me … so we kind of watch out for each other. They just have a different way of doing it, and I think this generation is a little looser with things than I ever was.”
