The couple sent 1,000 pairs of Adidas and Kardashian Kollection shoes to the organization, which “works to fight poverty through the distribution of shoes and clothing,” according to a new post titled “Kim’s Kauses” on the reality star’s website.
“Kanye and I were so happy to donate 1,000 shoes to Soles 4 Souls this holiday season,” the star wrote. “I’m so glad to have learned about an organization doing so much good around the world.”
Kardashian West first learned about Soles 4 Souls earlier this month after watching a television special about a teenager’s drive to collect 2,0000 shoes for donation.
“A few weeks ago, I was up breastfeeding and watching a show called Dish Nation when I learned about Amelia Flores, a girl who was looking for 1,000 shoes to donate to Soles 4 Souls,” Kardashian West, 35, wrote in the new post. “The organization helped her and her family during Hurricane Katrina and she has started collecting her own sneakers to give back. I knew I had to get involved!”
Flores, who lives in Kansas, had reached half of her goal when Kardashian West tweeted her interest in supporting her.
The reality star initially enlisted her Twitter followers to help her find Flores, writing, “So whoever you are ….these shoes are for you! We will contact Soles For Souls! You reached your goal, so proud of you!!!”
