The reality star called off her relationship with the Houston Rockets player, a source tells PEOPLE.
The Keeping up with the Kardashians star and NBA pro began dating over the summer, but a source previously told PEOPLE the relationship became strained after Kardashian’s estranged husband Lamar Odom‘s health crisis.
Odom was found unconscious at a Las Vegas brothel Oct. 13 and spent weeks hospitalized, with Kardashian dedicating a large amount of time to supporting his ongoing recovery. In January he moved from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles to a live-in rehabilitation center.
“It hasn’t been easy. James obviously has wanted to see her more and be with her more, but she’s felt like she needed to stay in L.A. to be with her family and to deal with Lamar stuff,” a source close to the family previously PEOPLE. “That has put some strain on things.”
Kardashian, 31, previously told PEOPLE that Harden, 26, had remained supportive as she attended to Odom, saying he had been “very supportive and awesome.”
“I’m just allowing everything to unfold. If it’s ever too overwhelming [for him], then I understand that as well,” Kardashian said.
Coincidentally on the same day her split news from Harden was announced, Kardashian uploaded her OKCupid profile on her app and website. One thing she shared for future suitors to know is that her typical Friday night consists of “working or hanging out with nieces and nephews: Penelope, Mason, Reign, Saint and North.” As for self summary, her motto is “taking every day as it comes.”
