The former Girls Next Door star, who previously lived in the Playboy Mansion with Hefner as one of his girlfriends, revealed in an interview with E! News that she recently saw the Playboy founder just weeks before reports swirled that he was facing health issues.
“I’m not a medical person or any of that stuff. Honestly, he was there and we had a great talk and we were very happy to see each other,” Wilkinson, 31, stated. “There are rumors that things are happening, but I mean he’s 91 years old! He’s going to live longer than us, you know?”
Wilkinson, who is married to Hank Basket and shares two children — Alijah and Hank — with the former NFL player, recognizes that Hefner is in his older years — but she hopes for the best.
“I mean, I worry every day. He’s at that age and I’m not going to lie, every day I open up my social media and I pray that I don’t see what we think might happen,” Wilkinson said.
She added: “He honestly is my family. I don’t even know how to say it. He’s an angel to me in my life. The day that comes will be devastating for me and my family.”
On Sept. 30, Hefner squashed rumors that he was “sick” by taking to Twitter. “I wish the tabloids had informed me a little earlier in the week that I’m sick. I might have cancelled my weekend plans,” Hefner first tweeted, which he followed with a second tweet with wife, Crystal. “Tonight’s Mansion movie is the classic western, ‘Shane,’ ” he tweeted in addition to a photo of him and his 30-year-old bride.
