His sister-in-law Kendall Jenner is using her supermodel skills for an important cause: voter registration.
In a video released Tuesday, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star wears a 1900s costume and gives an oral history of the women’s suffrage movement.
“Every day we vote. We’re able to express our opinions online with likes and hashtags. But when it comes to the right to vote, it hasn’t always been that easy, especially for women,” she says in the PSA created by the Independent Journal and the Rock the Vote campaign.
Jenner, 19, details the battle, led by activists Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony, to pass the 19th Amendment in 1920.
“Because of suffragettes and their battle, gender doesn’t matter, but your vote always can,” she concludes.
Who knows – maybe in 2020, Jenner’s legions of social media followers will be voting for West, 38, who declared his intention to run for president at the MTV Video Music Awards.
