Just because Kris Jenner‘s youngest kid has left the nest doesn’t mean she’s done parenting.

In a sneak peek at this week’s episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kris shares some motherly advice with daughter Kylie as she prepared to ring in her 18th birthday at Montreal’s Beach Club, marking the first time she’d ever hosted a night out.

“I’m about to do my first club appearance for my birthday in Canada, and my mom just won’t stop checking in on me,” Kylie says in a confessional. “But I’m grown now. I’m 18, I can handle this on my own.”

Meanwhile, her momager casually brings up the subject of alcohol while chatting in Kylie’s expansive walk-in closet.

“I think the drinking age is 18 in Canada, right?” she asks.

“Yup,” Kylie says. “I wasn’t planning on drinking, so …”

Kris, 60, tells the camera that she’s “always worried” about Kylie, “especially with alcohol involved” – but she trusts her to be responsible.

“I’m just being your mom and saying be on your best behavior, missy,” she says.

Based Kylie’s Instagrams and Snapchats from the Aug. 15, it seems Kylie handled the milestone just fine – though she did post a photo of a celebratory bottle of champagne.

KUWTK airs Sunday at 9 p.m. ET.
