John Mayer discovered another thing he was grateful for this Thanksgiving weekend: This Is Us.

The 39-year-old singer admitted to having a soft spot for NBC’s hit show of the fall after watching the first episode of the new series on Friday.

“Just saw the first episode of ‘This is Us’ and I’m hooked. Cryin’ and hooked,” Mayer wrote on Twitter. “Not even wiping away tears for the next episodes. Just gonna let the first ones create tracks for a more even, efficient flow.”

Mandy Moore, one of the show’s stars, took notice of Mayer’s tweets of admiration and decided to reach out.

“Glad you’re digging it,” the 32-year-old actress and singer said to Mayer on Saturday.

Soon after, he responded, “Beyond dig, @TheMandyMoore. I’m about to attempt one of the most emotionally reckless stunts ever: watching an episode ON AN AIRPLANE.”

Mayer isn’t the only new member of the This Is Us fan club. Abigail Breslin also caught onto the tear-jerking show over the long weekend and shared her thoughts on Twitter.

“I’m 18 minutes into the first episode of @NBCThisisUs and have already developed 80 new unrealistic expects for relationships. So thanks,” she said, adding, “Also I’m obsessed.”

This Is Us airs Tuesdays (9 p.m. ET) on NBC.
