Krasinski, 36, recently underwent a complete body transformation in order to get himself in shape to play a Navy SEAL in his upcoming movie 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. The actor shed 21 percent of his total body fat over the course of four months – and now has the washboard abs to show for it.
But when the actor appeared on The Late Show on Tuesday night, he said his wife, Blunt, “hates” his new look.
“She hates it,” Krasinski joked. “She would way prefer to have doughy guy back.”
“Doughy is a strong word,” host Stephen Colbert said in the actor’s defense.
“No, like sweet-face,” Krasinski clarified.
While Blunt, 32, might still be getting used to his new, ripped body, the rest of the world sure seems on board with his transformation. The actor has received a lot of attention since appearing in the January/February issue of Men’s Health magazine, where he puts his fit physique on full display.
“Did you always want this?” Colbert asked while holding a picture from the magazine.
“I looked like that in The Office,” Krasinski joked. “You just didn’t see it much.”
To get into shape for the film, Krasinski hit the gym twice a day for nearly four months. And the actor is the first to admit that the workout was much harder than he expected.
“It’s real work, too. I thought it would be like, ‘Yeah, let’s eat a couple Power Bars and do push-ups.’ And he was like, ‘No. It’s going to be a living hell for six to eight weeks,’ ” he said.

“I couldn’t do one pull-up,” he said. “I was like, ‘How hard are these pull-ups, really?'”
The hard work definitely paid off. By the end of the four months, the actor was seamlessly doing workout routines fit for an NFL player “pulling sleds” and “pushing weights.”
After the two were done talking about his impeccable body, Colbert challenged Krasinski to a fake vomit-off (a game Blunt has also played on the show).
In the game, the two men pretend to be holding back vomit as they do a dramatic reading of a classic film. And let’s just say, they really can’t handle the truth.
