Could Jimmy Fallon be the next Oscar host?

There’s buzz building about the possibility of NBC’s late night host taking the reins on Hollywood’s biggest awards show.

According to a report in the Los Angeles Times, Fallon, 37, is in talks with the Motion Picture Academy of Arts & Sciences to follow in the footsteps of comedians like Steve Martin, Jon Stewart, Ellen DeGeneres and Billy Crystal, who did the deed earlier this year.

Fallon’s boss at Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Saturday Night Live executive producer Lorne Michaels, is also being considered to produce the 2013 telecast.

One possible (major) snag? ABC airs the Oscars, and Fallon is a direct competitor of the network’s late-night guy, Jimmy Kimmel.

Kimmel, 44, is already in line to host the Emmys on Sept. 23, so he’s not really in the running for the Oscarcast, but ABC reportedly isn’t in favor of having to promote the competition.

Wheeling and dealing aside, we want to know if you think Fallon would be a good choice for Oscar host.

Should Jimmy Fallon host the Oscars? Yes! He’s a perfect fit No. He’s not the best choice
