In the words of Jane the Virgin‘s narrator, “Okay, let’s do this.”

A lot has happened on Jane since it premiered in the fall, but actress Andrea Navedo promises that the twists and turns will be amped up even higher for the season 1 finale on Monday.

“The finale is going to be fantastic. It is so well-written,” Navedo (a.k.a. Xo) tells PEOPLE. “It really ties in the whole season and has a beautiful connection to the first episode. And there are three titillating cliffhangers. It is just so good.”

Navedo, 45, also promises some of Jane‘s signature whimsy as the first season ends.

“The actors have to pull it off, but the writers are amazing. There has never been a moment where any of us have said, ‘No. This is way too unrealistic,’ ” she says.

“We can pull off the comedy and the drama without batting an eyelash. It’s just so well-written that our jobs are really easy. It’s easy for us to pull off these crazy situations. I can’t wait for people to see what we get to do in the final episode.”
