Hillary Clinton beat Stephen Colbert at his own game when she made a “surprise” appearance on The Colbert Report on Tuesday night.

Colbert introduced Clinton’s new book, Hard Choices, which was published on June 10, and began to poke fun at the politician, calling the book “656 pages of shameless name-dropping.”

“I just don’t buy any of this. There is no way on earth one woman can be in so many places at once,” he said.

No sooner had the comedian made the snarky comment, than the former Secretary of State appeared on stage amidst chants of, “Hillary, Hillary!”

“Hillary Clinton,” Colbert exclaimed incredulously.

Clinton cheekily replied, “Now who’s a name-dropper, Stephen?”

“That’s not what my good friend Tom Hanks calls me when we’re hanging out at George Clooney‘s house,” Colbert rebutted.

The back-and-forth Battle of the Names that ensued was nothing short of hilarious. Colbert and Clinton each tried to one-up the other by boasting about dining with Meryl Streep, camping with Oprah, and sharing an office with Steve Carell.

The battle came to a head when Colbert passionately declared, “I once did an entire show with President Bill Clinton!”

“I hate to break it to you,” Clinton replied, “but I’ve met him, too.”
