The new season of TLC’s hit show premieres Thursday with back-to-back episodes, including one titled “The Birds and The Bees.”
“A girl meets this boy, they fall in love … and the boys try to get in girls’ fruit loops,” Mama June, whose real name is June Shannon, tells daughters Lauryn (Pumpkin), Anna (Chickadee) and Jessica (Chubbs).
Cereal, it is not. “A fruit loop is your biscuit, a woman’s vaginal area … your privatal area,” she explains as part of an awkward talk that sends her running to the bathroom with a case of the nerves.
“Why do you call it a fruit loop, Mom?” Jessica asks.
“Because guys go loopy over it,” replies June, who later lists her own euphemisms for body parts, including “ting tangs,” “weed wackers” and the “bungalow.”
“No, my mama did not talk about sex, birds and the bees, flowers and the trees to me, no,” June explains. “And I guess that’s why I don’t like to talk to my kids about it.”
So where’s Honey Boo Boo during the sex talk? “Alana is left out of all the teenage stuff and needs a new hobby,” according to an episode description from TLC. “Cheerleading is something she’s always wanted to try and she excels at hollerin’, so off to cheer camp she goes.”
Watch a clip of Alana at cheer camp below. It’s adorable.
