Updated

It’s here!

Just weeks shy of the Hairspray Live! premiere date, NBC has released the first trailer for the live musical event — and it has us all singing “You Can’t Stop the Beat.”

On Monday, the network distributed the promo for its highly anticipated Dec. 7 production, which features Ariana Grande (Penny Pingleton), Jennifer Hudson (Motormouth Maybelle), Martin Short (Wilbur Turnblad), Derek Hough (Corny Collins) and more members of the cast singing and dancing in the 35-seond video to the tunes of Hairspray‘s signature song.

Come showtime, audiences will see Shahadi Wright Joseph (Little Inez), Ephraim Sykes (Seaweed Stubbs), Garrett Clayton (Link Larkin), Harvey Fierstein (Edna Turnblad), , Kristin Chenoweth (Velma von Tussle) and Dove Cameron (Amber von Tussle) perform in the live production alongside guest stars Sean Hayes, Andrea Martin, Rosie O’Donnell and Billy Eichner.

Newcomer Maddie Baillio will star in the production as the iconic Tracy Turnblad.

Baillio, 20, told PEOPLE of playing the leading lady, “When I was younger, I was bullied a lot and I let that stop me from doing the things that I wanted to do. And Tracy, she never lets anything stop her and she’s bullied constantly,” and added, “Because she doesn’t let anything stop her, she gets the guy and she gets to be on the show and she takes the world!”

Hairspray Live! airs live from Los Angeles on Dec. 7  at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
