Gilmore Girls star Scott Patterson, who played Luke’s Diner owner Luke Danes in the original CW series and the Netflix revival, sat with PEOPLE Now and gave the inside scoop on what the future holds for the fan-favorite Stars Hollow couple.
In the reboot, Luke and Lorelei say “I do” in the iconic Stars Hollow gazebo surrounded by their loved ones — a.k.a. Rory, Lane and Michel — in a scene that Patterson described as being just as magical as it looked.
“Absolutely, the set was so beautifully constructed, it really was a fantasy land,” said Patterson about Luke and Lorelai’s (Lauren Graham) wedding.
He added that the scene was so special, there were waterworks when it came time to knock it down.
“It was so amazing to be on that set. When they tore down [the set], we all kind of shed a little tear,” he said. “That was the most photographed set that I’ve been on.”
But how will the duo fare in married life, and would kids ever be in the equation? Although his character visited Paris Geller’s fertility clinic in the revival, Patterson vowed that Luke will never return.
“He’s never going back there. He doesn’t want to see Paris ever again,” said Patterson. “As great as she is as a character, he’s just not interested in being in the same room with that, not at all!”
After all, there’s no need for kids at the moment since it was revealed that Rory’s got a bun in the oven.
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is now streaming on Netflix.
