See Game of Thrones Retold in Emoji Form

The long wait for Game of Thrones is nearly over: The fourth season of the HBO fantasy series premieres Sunday night. But for fans who might need a refresher, one helpful YouTube user has come along with a summary of the show’s first three seasons.

There’s just one twist: It’s entirely in emoji.

In "Game of Phones," the labyrinthine mythology of Westeros is reduced to a series of comical cartoons that neatly outline the characters and stakes at play in the series. (You will not be surprised to see that the skull features very prominently.)

A cheat sheet, if you need it: The video starts with the Starks, then goes to Daenerys, the Lannisters, Robert and Gendry, Melisandre, the Greyjoys, the Night’s Watch and the Wall, before finishing up with the infamous Red Wedding.

In the video’s YouTube comments, creator Cara Rose DeFabio says the video took her roughly three hours to create, as the task was complicated by the theme song’s 3/4 time signature.

Game of Thrones returns April 6.
