Known for playing savvy seductresses who win the affection of kings in The Tudors and now Game of Thrones, Natalie Dormer has ditched her period garb for a more au naturel look in a collection of sultry new photos.

Appearing in the April issue of GQ, the English actress admits, “I love going out of my comfort zone – I live to go out of my comfort zone.”

But, she adds, “Obviously, you have quieter years than others – you don’t go jumping out of a plane every day.”

Posing scantily clad in a series of shots, Dormer, 32, rocks her edgy, half-buzz haircut, a ‘do she’s taken on for her part as Cressida in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.

“I was a little bit nervous, because as women for some weird reason we have a lot of our identity bound up in our hair,” she told PEOPLE while debuting her new look. “But just to get rid of it was liberating.”

Dormer calls her new style “Phase ‘Rock It Out,’ ” a departure from the “elegant, long, flowing, gentrified skirts” she usually wears for her roles.

Thankfully, fans will be seeing more of Dormer very soon: The actress is set to light up TV screens when Game of Thrones returns April 6 on HBO.
