Television legend Florence Henderson’s death on Thanksgiving at age 82 has Hollywood in mourning – and one of her Brady Bunch co-stars is leading the tributes to her on-screen mom.
Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia Brady on the show, took to Twitter shortly after the news to say that Henderson will be in her heart forever.
“Florence Henderson was a dear friend for so very many years,” she wrote.
Just three days before her death, Henderson made an appearance at Dancing with the Stars to support McCormick.
Marie Osmond, another 70s TV legend, tweeted out a picture of her and Henderson from Henderson’s appearance on the Donny and Marie Show in 1977.
“America’s favorite 70s Mom has passed. Fond memories working w/ my dear friend,” she wrote.
Patricia Arquette also tweeted a tribute, thanking Henderson for being a “kind generous friend” to her sister Alexis, who died in September from an AIDS-related illness.
Henderson also clearly left an impression on the cast of Dancing with the Stars after she competed on the show in 2010, where she continued through four rounds of eliminations.
“Broken hearted. She was like a mom to us all. I’m grateful I had the chance to get to know you these past few years,” judge Carrie Ann Inaba tweeted.
DWTS pro Sasha Farber wrote, “We just lost a legend, someone who always remembers everyone’s name and is one of the sweetest people I know.”
Added Larry King, “Rest In Peace Florence Henderson, a dear lady with a great sense of humor & a terrific laugh. ‘America’s mom’ has died.”
“RIP Florence Henderson,” wrote actress Debra Messing. ” ‘The Brady Bunch’ was everything.”
