Dave Chappelle Resurrects Fan-Favorite Characters for The Walking Dead Skit on SNL

Posted on

Dave Chappelle knows that the loss of a TV character hurts. That’s why he decided to treat Chappelle’s Show fans to a revisit from some of their favorite faces.

While hosting Saturday Night Live, the 43-year-old comedian revived some of the classic characters from his former sketch comedy show in a skit spoofing The Walking Dead‘s latest massacre. Chappelle channels baseball bat-wielding Negan as he decides who among the unfortunate group will meet their end.

The first character to make his case against getting brutally murdered is crack addict Tyrone Biggums. In response to Negan’s bubblegum rhyme to decide his victim, he says, “With all due respect Mr. Negan, in my line of work when you’re on your knees they don’t give you bubblegum.”

Beautiful and Silky Johnson from “Player Hater’s Ball” mocked their potential killer’s shoes with a “What are those?” joke while Clayton Bigsby revealed himself to be a loyal Donald Trump supporter and Lil Jon still hadn’t expanded his vocabulary.

Eventually, Negan chooses Tyrone Biggums as his victim, knocking his head clean off his body. However, he remains alive, his head rolling around to evade another blow from the baseball bat until his body snatches him up. Tyrone then addresses a nation that “seems irrevocably severed like a man from his head,” urging it to move forward.

“Note to self: remind me to try crack,” Silky Johnson says.

Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays (11:30 p.m. ET) on NBC.
