Connor “The Crusher” Michalek was first able to meet his favorite professional wrestler, Daniel Bryan, back in 2012, after his family posted a video on YouTube.

Two years later, and just under three weeks before Connor succumbed to pediatric brain cancer, he was able to visit Bryan again at Wrestlemania XXX.

Connor spent time with WWE stars AJ Lee, Triple H and Bryan before the event – even managing to “pin” Triple H in the ring in the empty stadium before the event. After his match that night, Bryan made sure to share a moment with his No. 1 fan.

“Daniel got out of the ring on our side and the very first person Daniel went up to was Connor,” Connor’s father, Steve Michalek, told High Point, North Carolina, Fox affiliate WGHP. “He leaned over and said, ‘Connor, you mean a lot to me. You give me a lot of strength. You helped me earn this. Please keep on fighting.'”

“It was the perfect moment,” Michalek continued. “I truly believe the whole experience extended Connor’s time with me. There’s no greater gift that I could get … and no way I could repay them for that.”

Connor died April 25. In the video, Bryan offers a few words for his departed friend: “Connor was special for a million reasons … You couldn’t help but talk to him and instantly fall in love with him.”

“[Connor] had a magic about him,” a tearful Stephanie McMahon adds. “He had a light … and anyone around him could feel it … and was the better for it.”
