Colton Haynes is focusing on the positive things in his life after a scary ordeal.

The actor revealed in an Instagram story video on Wednesday that his Beverly Hills home was broken into recently.

“Even though someone the other day broke into my house and stole a bunch of stuff, that’s not gonna get me down,” he told fans in the clip.

Haynes, 28, further addressed the break-in Thursday on Twitter.

“My home was broken into a few days ago & a lot was stolen. I am ok,” he wrote, adding: “I don’t understand why it’s necessary that my personal info is on TMZ.”

TMZ reported that around $5,000-$6,000 worth of Haynes’ belongings were allegedly taken. The Los Angeles Police Department did not immediately confirm the robbery to PEOPLE.

In the time since, Haynes has remained positive, happily focusing on promoting his new line of signature candles. The candles are made in conjunction with the Exceptional Children’s Foundation in Culver City, California, which employs mentally and physically challenged adults.
