Happy birthday, Candace Cameron Bure!
“I’ve told them I really don’t want to know anything because I love being surprised,” Bure, 40, tells PEOPLE.
At this point, all she knows is that one of her favorite bands, For King and Country, will be performing. She hopes that friends and family will be there to celebrate with her and hopes the surprise party will offer an opportunity to give back in a way that only The View could.
“I really was hoping that somehow my birthday could lend itself to making a day or time in someone else’s life super, super special,” she says. “That’s kind of the fun part about being a celebrity.”
Bure doesn’t expect to see costar Jodie Sweetin, because she’s busy with Dancing with the Stars, or her family because she doesn’t think her kids can take off from school in Los Angeles to fly to New York. Over the weekend, her husband Valeri Bure and her kids Natasha, 17, Lev, 16, and Maksim, 14 threw her a surprise party in Napa Valley.
“I already feel like I celebrated my birthday,” she says, adding that she’ll probably go out for a great dinner with friends. “Chilling out sounds like a great night because I already had a big bash of the weekend.”
Overall, she’s excited about starting her 40th year.
“Every year has seemed to have gotten better. I feel better than I ever have, so I’m excited and I’m going to embrace it,” she says.
The Views airs weekdays (11 a.m. ET) on ABC.
