Bethenny Tells Fiancé She Needs Therapy to Get Down the Aisle

Posted on

The Real Housewives of New York City may be winding down as its first reunion show airs Thursday (9 p.m. EST), but Bethenny Frankel already has a new home in the world of reality TV.

Bethenny Getting Married?, which premieres Thursday, will follow Frankel as she faces a walk down the aisle – while expecting her first child, daughter Bryn, who was born in May.

With a baby on the way and a wedding to plan, Frankel’s spin-off isn’t all joy and happiness. In fact, in a clip from tonight’s episode, the Manhattanite mom-to-be may need a little therapy – and not the retail kind. But how will her former fiancé – and current husbandJason Hoppy react? Not so secure when she invites him to accompany her to the shrink.

“I think if you’re a couple and you need to go to counseling, it’s over,” he says in the clip.

But Bethenny explains as only she can: “I was raised in a cave by animals and wolves and at the race track and gambling and drinking when I was seven and going to nightclubs when I was 14,” she says. “My life was a total circus and Jason’s was a poetry reading.”

The premiere of Bethenny Getting Married? airs Thursday (10 p.m. EST) on Bravo. –Alison Schwartz
