It has not been the easiest of times for Bethenny Frankel, between her ongoing bitter divorce battle and the recent cancelation of her talk show. But, Frankel says, she is now beginning to feel “a little liberation.”
“I am dating, and I am happy,” Frankel, 43, told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live Tuesday night. “I’m good. I feel a little liberation, a little bit of freedom, just a little bit of not feeling so bad. It’s been a really, really hard time.”
The former Real Housewives of New York City star has recently been linked to Michael A. Cerussi III, who works in financial services in New York.
When Cohen asked Frankel about her difficult divorce from Jason Hoppy – and if the two were still living under the same roof – she replied, “It’s been a really surreal, crazy, insane situation … I just don’t want to talk about it because of [my daughter] Bryn.”
“I’m happy, but I have not totally come out on the other side,” added Frankel, who appeared on Watch What Happens Live alongside erstwhile RHONYC co-star Ramona Singer – herself reeling from the collapse of her marriage.
During the sit-down, Frankel also opened up about coming to terms with the cancelation of Bethenny.
“I felt edited and diluted and a little bit controlled,” the Skinnygirl mogul admitted to Cohen. “And I’m not really great when I’m shackled, as you know. You just have to kind of unleash the beast.”
She also revealed that despite a few high points, the show didn’t feel like the best fit for her.
“I wanted it to get renewed because of how many people are invested in it, because I took pride in it, and I do love doing it. It’s great being able to do the business segments, and talk to women,” Frankel said. “But ultimately … it’s not what I really should be doing. I didn’t love it the way I thought I would.”
