Every Bachelor season there are two major questions: Will he find the love of his life, and if so, who will it be?
Ben Flajnik’s own grandmother has weighed in on that first question, and she has a strong suspicion the answer is a resounding “yes.”
“He can t say anything about it,” Jean Hill, 88, tells the New Haven Register with a smile.
“But I will say, he just seems happy to me. So I think maybe he found someone. I can t wait to find out.”
She’s certainly been watching closely. Hill made sure she was surrounded by friends while watching the first episode last week at home in Guilford, Conn.
“It would be tough to watch it alone,” she says with a laugh. “I need support.”
Devastated over Ashley
Hill was happy with how her grandson was portrayed on the show, and pleased when a contestant showed off her grandmother, prompting Flajnik to profess his fondness for his own.
Hill is also apparently the forgiving type – she has no hard feelings toward last season’s Bachelorette Ashley Hebert, who famously rejected Flajnik’s marriage proposal.
“I was devastated for him,” Hill admits. “I think his heart was really broken. I liked Ashley, and I think he loved her. But I think she and [fiancé J.P. Rosenbaum] will have a good relationship.”
Either way, it’s all been good for Flajnik, she says (although PEOPLE.com readers know that what went on on Monday’s episode didn’t entirely please him).
“It s opened him up so much. He s gotten to travel and have a lot of good experiences,” Hill tells the newspaper. “He seems very happy to me. And if he finds love – that s all I want for him. He s ready, and he s a good man.”
