Below Deck‘s Nico Scholly is heartbroken over the death of his younger brother, who died suddenly at age 21.
Scholly, who stars on the Bravo reality series, took to social media on Monday to reveal that Tristen Scholly had passed away.
“My best friend. My other half. My favorite little s—. I hated you quiet often but loved the hell out of u no matter what. My heart is completely broken. This strong an amazing young man will be donating his heart, lungs, and organs to save people’s lives. I’m going to miss you so much Tristen.. your to young to say,” Nico, who did not reveal the cause of death, captioned an Instagram photo of the duo.

“Idk what to say. So here’s a pic of me and my brother. This brave amazing guy is donating his lungs, heart, and other organs. He will save 4 different individuals lives. I love u so much,” he penned in a second post on Instagram.
“Always making me laugh you little smart ass,” Nico wrote about his late younger brother in a third post. “Never a dull moment. I miss u so much already #chicago #brotherlove #tristen #belowdeck.”
The Below Deck star also asked for his fans and followers to keep his family in their prayers following the reveal of Tristen’s death. “My younger brother of 21 is now an [angel]. So please pray for my family

“My family and I are truly devastated,” Nico told Bravo’s The Daily Dish in a statement. “We ask that our privacy be respected at this tragic and very difficult time.”
According to the Tristen Scott Scholly Memorial Fund’s Go Fund Me page, his organs were donated after his death.
“Thank you everyone for your love and support. The Abitua, Scholly, and Heidner family are devastated for losing one of our own. We lost a brother, best friend & so much more. To lose a brother, a son, a boyfriend, a friend…words can’t describe how we feel as family,” the website reads. “We will keep you updated on Tristen Scott Scholly. Every dollar will help support this long process, and anything left over or extra will be donated to GIFT OF HOPE foundation. Tristen will be donating his eyes, lungs, liver, HEART, and other organs. He will save many lives. He will live on through other beautiful souls. Thank you everyone for your support, we are so greatly appreciative.”
