After 40-year-plus runs on ABC, and the final episode of All My Children set to air Sept. 23 and of One Life to Live in January 2012, the popular soaps won’t be saying goodbye, after all.
The shows are going online.
“We are privileged to continue the legacy of two of the greatest programs to air on daytime television, and are committed to delivering the storylines, characters and quality that audiences have come to love for over 40 years,” the production company Prospect Park announced in a statement Thursday.
Once they hit the web, the soaps will continue to be delivered with the same quality and in the same format and length – though it has not been announced whether the current casts, such as Susan Lucci in All My Children, will continue in their roles.
