It was so great to get together with the contestants during week six for the night challenge. The weather was perfect, the challenge involved cold hard cash, and the contestants were ready to win.
As the challenge got underway, it was clear that David found the perfect rhythm. Also creating a rhythm were Ruben and Tanya with their supportive dance from the sidelines. How funny are they together? At the end, the Red Team was so excited and relieved to finally have a victory. It was a really fun night for all of us, but especially for the Red Team.
Prior to reconnecting with the contestants came one of my favorite moments each season: when the contestants see who they were when they started their Biggest Loser journey and begin to realize how far they ve come. Because I m not with the contestants daily, I realize their successes and improvements, but for them to have that aha moment” is always so impactful.
At the weigh-in, it was so cool to welcome Chelsea to Onederland as she crossed her major milestone to being back in the 100s. However, even with Chelsea s celebration, the Blue Team definitely struggled on the scale. The White Team by contrast had a great week with Tumi losing a stunning 11 pounds and keeping her team safe from elimination. But in the end, David killed it on the scale by losing an incredible 17 lbs. and saving the Red Team for another week. To see David win the challenge for his team at the start of the week and then for him to end the weigh-in with such a great accomplishment for his team was just so awesome for his morale. You could see a weight literally and figuratively lifted from him.
Going into next week, there are no more trainer saves since Bob used his to save Matt. As Bob said, it ll be a level playing field once again and I can assure you, it s an episode you won t want to miss.
My favorite moment of the week: Watching the back and forth between Ruben and Dolvett after being in the studio with David Foster. But, Ruben no doubt knows what he s talking about – Dolvett should stick with his day job! What did you think of Dolvett s singing?
