Zooey Deschanel (and her TV alter ego Jess Day) have such enviable style that there’s even a whole Tumblr dedicated to finding the adorable A-line dresses and bow-topped sweaters that have become her (their?) signature pieces. And now Deschanel is bringing her distinctive style sensibility to a store near you, thanks to her upcoming collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger.
Deschanel first collaborated with Hilfiger at last year’s Met Gala, where Hilfiger created a seersucker gown for the star as a cheeky take on the night’s “punk” theme. Now they’re teaming up to create a line of dresses and accessories, called To Tommy, From Zooey, which launches in April.
“Working with Tommy on this capsule collection has been really amazing,” Deschanel said in a statement. “I am a fashion fanatic … Tommy and I share many of the same inspirations — old school music, classic films and old Hollywood icons — and his guidance during the design process helped to put a really unique twist on each piece.”
These pieces are a blend of Deschanel’s vintage ’60s aesthetic and Hilfiger’s patriotic color palette for a look the actress calls “modical.” Examples of sketches are above, and you can see Deschanel modeling some of the pieces at WWD.com, which first reported the story. Prices will range from $98 to $199; dresses will be available at Macy’s stores and online April 14, while dresses and an exclusive line of handbags and jewelry will hit Tommy Hilfiger April 21.
