All that Oscar buzz you’re hearing about Lupita Nyong’o — as in, she’s basically going to be the Jennifer Lawrence of the 2014 awards season — isn’t the only reason to become acquainted with the 12 Years a Slave star. She’s been gaining some major attention for her red carpet fashion choices, too, and we’ll confess we’re obsessed with her red carpet game. So we decided to write her a series of style love notes for the above four looks (in chronological order from left to right).
We have never seen a shade of blue as pretty as the one on your Roland Mouret V-neck stunner, which you wore to the 12 Years a Slave premiere in N.Y.C. Your glow in this dress girl is on a whole other level. And 93% of our readers love it too.
All the Best,
Usually oversize birds on a dress wouldn’t be our thing, but you totally nail a bold print! Your Miu Miu dress (worn to the L.A. premiere of 12 Years a Slave) is the perfect mix of trendy and girlie (hello, that pleated skirt). And we’d be happy to take those cap-toe Christian Louboutins off your hands whenever you’re done with them. Oh, and loving the purple lips (your makeup artist Nick Barose tells us it’s NARS Guy Bourdin lipstick in “Full Frontal” and now we want our own tube). Thanks for mixing it up.
Till next time,

You might be a red carpet newbie, but you’d never know it from your A-list wardrobe. Like the perfect Prada ensemble you just wore to the 12 Years a Slave screening in Hollywood: It’s just a chic collared blouse, black blazer and floral shorts, but we can’t think of a better fall ensemble.
Us again. Are you a Barry’s Bootcamp regular? Because this might be the hottest bodycon moment we’ve seen all year. Your Christopher Kane LBD with cut-outs at the waist and elastic paneling is totally flattering without revealing too much. And way to add color with a red pout. Seriously, London must have totally loved you at the 12 Years a Slave premiere.
Call us sometime. We wanna shop your closet.
