“The problem with shapewear is that it’s not something you want people to see,” Bethenny Frankel explained. “But this is something you actually want people to see.”

The reality star’s newest line of shapewear — Skinnygirl Solutions — just hit Macy’s stores, and features sexy, lacy underthings that look great when worn solo. “It’s lazy lingerie,” Frankel told PEOPLE at a promotional event at the Renaissance Hotel in New York’s Times Square. “You’re wearing it now, and if you take your clothes off, you’re already sexy for your husband or your boyfriend or for a date.”

The tanks, shorts and bodysuits are all less than $50 apiece, and don’t have to be completely covered by clothing. “I wear mine under a blazer, under a cardigan, under a sexy dress sometimes for the summer, with a little peeking out the top,” Frankel said. “It makes me feel more sexy … even just having it on underneath my clothes I feel a little more feminine.”

Frankel said she launched shapewear — which started with her Skinnygirl Smoothers n’ Shapers line — to fill a gap in the market. “Fans ask for larger cup sizes, different cup sizes, comfort, price,” she said. “One size does not fit all. We have one item that you can wear with your own bra, because some women are larger breasted or just attached to their own bras. There are classics, and there are the more ‘wow’ moments, but all of it is priced for every woman.”
