and Amy Poehler are no strangers to borrowed-from-the-boys looks, having worn blazers behind the Weekend Update desk for years on SNL. However, we have a feeling that the two faux anchors would have had a hard time keeping a straight face during a segment about Tina’s one-piece and Amy’s shorts suit.

TAKE THE A-TRAIN
straight home to change out of these super girlie A-line looks. Tina’s drop-waist bustier gown is high-fashion but the tea-length full skirt is too cutesy for the comedian, while Amy’s lacy, tiered number with a hot pink ribbon looks recycled from a 2004 homecoming dance. Points for great hair and shoes on both, though.

YOU GO, GIRLS
The ladies aren’t afraid of putting their very own “Golden Globes” (sorry, we couldn’t help it), on display in sexy, cleavage-baring gowns (Tina’s is L’Wren Scott). Just a reminder that while they may be goofy on TV, they’re totally gorgeous in real life.

OH, SO HIP
Peplums were huge in 2012, despite their trickiness to pull off. Tina’s navy Carolina Herrera design (worn to the Academy Awards) was a chic way to dip a toe into the trend, while the feathered, sweetheart-neckline Fotini gown Amy picked for the Met Gala was more of a headfirst dive.

The longtime BFFs aren’t just hosting the awards – they’re also up against each other for Best Actress (for their roles on 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation). Whichever one goes home empty-handed can take solace that she already has something ultra-reflective in her closet – like Tina’s Zac Posen and Amy’s Naeem Khan. P.S. It also helps to trip the winner as she walks onstage. (Kidding!)

As New York girls ourselves, we totally appreciate how hard it must have been for these two to give up their basic black for something more traffic-stopping. However, after seeing the payoff of Tina’s floral Oscar de la Renta gown and Amy’s belted one-shoulder column, we may be up for a similar risk ourselves.

Both actresses are dazzling in their own right, but never more so than in these shimmery numbers – Tina in golden lace Naeem Khan for December’s Kennedy Center awards, and Amy in an electric blue short-sleeve gown that stole the show when she stormed the stage for the first ever “Emmy pageant.”

THEIR BEST EVER
Though their red carpet road was not always a smooth one, the two NBC stars knocked it out of the park with their fashion choices at the 2012 Emmys. Tina looked svelte and stunning in burgundy Vivienne Westwood, while Amy dipped low (and looked lovely) in a plunging beaded Stella McCartney.
