Have you bought anything you loved lately? In the PEOPLE StyleWatch offices, the answer to that question is usually “Yes.” Below, check out the shoes (at a steal) we couldn’t pass up, the best bright clutch to beat the winter blahs and the “mom jeans” one of us swears by.

Andrea Lavinthal, Style and Beauty Editor: Have you heard about the girl who found a pair of Jimmy Choos in her size hidden on a bottom shelf at T.J. Maxx? Sounds like an urban fashion legend, right? That’s what I thought until it happened to me.
It was a snowy Saturday during fashion week and I had 20 minutes to kill between shows. I wandered into T.J. Maxx and it was as if these cap-toe pumps had been waiting for me. The box was marked 7.5 (not my size), but when I turned over the shoe I saw that they were actually a 8.5 (MY SIZE!). They felt a bit snug, but when another shopper started circling me asking if I was going to take them, they suddenly fit like a glove.
The only hitch: at $500 (from $750), they weren’t exactly a bargain. I had been hoarding $250 in gift cards there for about a year, with plans to spend the money on random housewares, but clearly designer stilettos took precedence over a salad spinner and mugs. Now you can tell your friends you know a girl who bought Jimmy Choos at T.J. Maxx.

Elizabeth Minett, model and blogger at HautAppetit.com: I was running around to all the NY Fashion Week shows and attended BCBG, Peter Som, Rebecca Minkoff, and Lie Sang Bong to name a few. I saw so much color on the runway for Fall/Winter 2014! Yellow in particular is a color trend for the Spring/Summer, continuing into the fall. That’s why I bought this awesome Victoria Beckham clutch that I’m totally in love with. The yellow color cheers me up — the perfect accessory should always make you feel good!

Whitney Little, Associate Producer: I have a confession to make: I’m addicted to mom jeans (er, high-waisted jeans). I know they’re not what you would call “attractive” (my boyfriend is definitely cringing as he reads this), but they’re the most comfortable things in the world. I love not having to worry about eating too much and getting the dreaded muffin top, or constantly checking to see if they’re riding too low as I sit at my desk. So there you have it. Phew, I feel better.
My favorite brand is BDG, because their high-rise seamed jeans fit me perfectly — they flatter my shape and have just the right amount of stretch — and they’re also inexpensive. I’ve been living in both my black and denim pairs for the last year and a half, so I was not surprised to find that there were holes and rips beginning to form in my beloved pants. So when I saw the brand was having a Presidents’ Day sale ($39 each), I bought two new pairs. They’re back up to full price now, but for only $58 you, too, can join the mom jean gang. Any takers?
