Last night in San Jose, California, tears flowed and confetti flew as five young women secured their spot on the 2016 Women’s Gymnastics Olympic Team — arguably the most difficult team to land in all of sports.

After two nights of fierce competition, the U.S. Selection Committee chose Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez and Madison Kocian to represent Team USA in women’s gymnastics in Rio.

And while for the majority of the time the gymnasts compete, they conceal their emotions with a stoic and serious demeanor, last night the ladies let it all out.

Raisman, the second member of this year’s team to make it to her second Olympic Games (along with Douglas), was one of the first to shed tears (without any runny black mascara!) after finishing her final floor exercise routine and cinching her spot on the team.

During the competition, announcers noted that Raisman’s been on the hunt for the best waterproof mascara for tear-filled moments like she experienced at Sunday’s Olympic Trials. So we found some of the latest reliable, tear-proof mascara options Raisman can stash in her bag for Rio.
