Vogue's September Cover Girls Join Ranks of Highest-Paid Models (and Gisele Scores the Biggest Paycheck ... Again)

Posted on

It’s a great year to be a supermodel. Just ask Joan Smalls, Cara Delevingne and Karlie Kloss, who not only nabbed the September cover of Vogue, but also a spot on Forbes‘ highest-paid models of 2014 list. And they may have their Instagram followers to thank for that too.

“The first question from brands these days is immediately, ‘How many followers do they have?'” Ivan Bart, senior vice president and managing director of IMG models, tells Forbes. “Models can be more famous than a lot of celebrities out there because they have such a large following.”

Kloss led her fellow Vogue cover stars in cash, earning $4 million this past year, while Smalls pulled in $3 million and Delevingne took home $3.5 million.

Mirror, mirror on the wall: Which supermodel booked the most campaigns of all

And though they’re each bound to ascend a few notches next year (just check out all those campaigns they’ve landed!) they’re still unlikely to touch
Gisele Bündchen
who raked in a reported $47 million last year, according to the Forbes report. That’s $39 million more than the next two bombshells on the list, Doutzen Kroes and Adriana Lima, who topped out at $8 million each. Rounding out the top six, Kate Moss, Kate Upton and Miranda Kerr all tied at $7 million.

Coming in close on their heels: Kendall Jenner, whose Instagram followers alone may propel her to a spot on this list next year. What do you think of the list? Share your thoughts below!
