Some women find their favorite fashions and stick to them, but one Hollywood starlet has a different kind of philosophy.

“I think you have to feel comfortable, but you have to go somewhere extra, otherwise you’ll never change,” The Office‘s Ellie Kemper (left, in Badgley Mischka) told PEOPLE recently at the VH1 Divas event in Los Angeles. “You have to do something different.”

True, the newlywed has a stylist, but says she still needs that extra push to step out of her style box sometimes. “That’s why I trust my stylist, because she’ll say, ‘You know what you feel comfortable in,’ but then she’ll do that and take it to another level — and when she does that the result is invariably positive.”

So what if you aren’t lucky enough to have someone dress you for every occasion? Push yourself, Kemper says. “You have to be pressed, otherwise things get boring, and you get lazy [with your style]. It should always be evolving.” Tell us: Do you like to stick to one look, or do you change your style sensibility often?
