When you see a Gucci bag on the arm of a celeb like Rihanna or Jessica Alba, you don’t often think about how that gorgeous bag is created. Now you can watch it happen live in person! Gucci will be sending out a group of artisans from Florence to their stores all across the world, as part of the new Artisan Corner initiative, to hand make their new Bamboo and Pelham bags as well as small leather goods in-store for custom orders. The artisans will start their tour in the U.S. on April 19 in San Francisco and will conclude their tour on April 29 in N.Y.C. Can’t make it out to one of the events? Check out the meticulous behind-the-scenes process of the making of a Gucci bag–from the stitching and hand braiding to the methodical paint jobs, those horsebit-embellished accessories–here!
