Right now you’re probably in the process of re-reading The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in anticipation of the film’s release next week. And if you weren’t about to explode with excitement already, the red carpet fashion parade put on by the cast at the film’s world premiere in London should do the trick.
Unsurprisingly, Jennifer Lawrence made a statement in a silk Dior Haute Couture gown with multicolor embroidery and an asymmetrical draped back. At first, we weren’t sure how we felt about the silhouette of the dress, but from behind it’s a total stunner. Plus, we got our first glimpse of J.Law’s “black tie” pixie cut — a perfectly coiffed mane that showed off her amazing features (and EF Collection jewels).
Elizabeth Banks left the outlandish Effie Trinket dresses behind for a strapless citron Jason Wu gown featuring cutout details on the bodice, plus a Gaydamak handbracelet. She added even more color with a coral lip and kept her hair simple in a low chignon.
And Jena Malone (who plays female competitor Johanna Mason from District 7) selected a fringe-embellished Monique Lhuillier design with a matching red lip and slicked back strands. The actress couldn’t hide her excitement on Instagram, sharing a behind-the-scenes snap before hitting the carpet: “In the car to the world premiere of Catching Fire in London !!!! What an amazing journey it’s been so far. I really just can’t wait for everyone to see this film. I’m really proud of it. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!”
