Peace out, exclusive New York Fashion Week invites. Pinterest, the preferred social network of fashionistas and that one girl from your high school class who always pins gluten-free cookie recipes and pics of her imaginary daughter, will be making it way easier for you to join the party and follow all NYFW everything this year. That’s because they’ve teamed up with over 100 of the most influential designers, brands, and fashion insiders, including Style Network, Nordstrom, and Michael Kors, to name a few, to create an official online hub, pinterest.com/fashionweek, that will basically give you the chance to go behind the scenes and scope all the action even if you’re not there yourself. Cool, right?

Here’s the deal: Throughout the week, tons of fashion pros will be pinning real-time photos of the shows, plus street style pics, beauty tutorials, and anything else that they find inspiring. They’ll also be pinning the back stories of the collections to make it easier for you to interpret–i.e. truly “get“–the latest trends.

Since this partnership is so revolutionary, we reached out to six of the major players in the New York fashion scene to get the exclusive scoop on what the whole thing means to them. Here’s what they had to say:

Rebecca Minkoff: “We love Pinterest’s engaged fashion community, and we are excited to work directly with the platform to tell the story behind our Spring 2014 collection. It is amazing that Pinterest is giving NYFW and designers a dedicated space.”

Anna Sui: “I love doing research; learning about something new. I always want to share with my fans all the things that I am excited about. I want to take them on that journey with me and inspire them! Pinterest is a great tool for that.”

Phillip Lim

Phillip Lim: “We love seeing how people interpret our clothes and put them together in their own style. What better way to pay homage to this than collecting them all together in a Pinterest board. It is like saying ‘We saw you! Thank you!’”

Trina Turk: “We look forward to using Pinterest as a way to express our distinct brand evolution as we focus on the sleek and chic style of California today.”

Lauren Santo Domingo, Founder, Moda Operandi: “My greatest strength is I’m very visual. My greatest weakness is a short attention span. Pinterest with its constant stream of beautiful images plays to both.”
