Taylor Swift's Curls Are the Real MVP of Her 4th of July Party: A Closer Look at Her Air-Dried Texture

Remember when Taylor Swift embraced her curls? You know, before she discovered blowouts, smooth waves and the lob? It may seem like decades ago (read: while she was still wearing cowboy boots and singing “Tear Drops on My Guitar”), but during her much talked about (and debated) Fourth of July festivities, Swift let her natural hair run free. The result? The beachy, textured waves we’ve been trying to master since summer started.

Though Swift’s strands were soaked from the waterslide most of the weekend at her Rhode Island beach house, the singer’s close friend Ruby Rose posted a rare photo of Swift sporting what looks to be air-dried hair, proving that she does indeed know what life is like sans blow dryer.

The star paired her unfinished, tousled look with her go-to red lip and a gingham Solid and Striped cropped number — another summer BBQ ensemble that elicits immediate outfit envy.

But that wasn’t the only time her natural texture made an appearance. In bathing-suit clad photos with pals Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne and Karlie Kloss, Swift also posed with her partially dried strands forming a similar look. And being that there wasn’t a heat-styler in sight, we’re thinking that either her blonde locks have changed from spirals to dream-worthy waves over the years, or that these new looser than her 2006 curls are thanks to a relaxing treatment.

Whatever it is, we hope to have the look mastered by Labor Day.
