Is the updo officially over?
Three of our favorite hairstyles came from Tina Fey, Sofia Vergara and Jessica Alba. Fey, someone we love but don’t necessarily look to for ground-breaking beauty moments, had our jaws on the floor with her glam deep side part and Rita Hayworth waves. Remington celebrity stylist Richard Marin used hot rollers on the co-host, stacking them down the sides of her head, then brushed her cooled locks in an “S” pattern. Her forehead-skimming bangs flattered her face, and the whole style worked well with her strapless L’Wren Scott gown.
Vergara skipped the curls in favor of a sleek, straight ‘do. “I wanted to go off of her stunning Lorraine Schwartz floral jewelry that she was wearing,” Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy celebrity stylist Jen Atkin explains. “I also wanted to complement her black dress and red lips.” To do that, she blow-dried Vergara’s hair straight with a Mason Pearson brush, used a flat iron on the ends of the hair (but not the root), then spritzed locks with a light shine spray and hairspray to add luster and tame flyaways.
Alba also worked romantic waves, hers showcasing her ombré hair color nicely. Though the ‘do fought slightly with her statement necklace, it’s a style we could see someone wearing to a wedding — or even to work. Now excuse us while we go grab our curling irons …
