The two have been dating since 2012 and formed their own band, Alexander Jean, together. They’ve been betrothed since Thanksgiving, but the DWTS pro officially announced their engagement last week, and the ring finally made its public appearance on Monday at the Sundance Film Festival. The duo cuddled together at the Toyota Mirai Music Lodge in couples-coordinating outfits accessorized with scarves, festive headwear and the most important accessory of all, BC Jean’s stunning oval-cut ring with side baguettes.
Guess the cats out of the bag…😋 We are getting married!!! I am surprised we were able to keep it hush hush for as long as we did, but I am thankful for the privacy we had to celebrate the exciting news over the holidays with our close friends and family. But now the secrets out and we are very happy to announce our engagement to the world! My love @markballas took my breath away and really out did himself when he asked me to spend forever with him on November 25th 2015. I can't wait to marry the King of my Heart & best friend and continue our journey of forever with love, music and adventures. #BCBallas 😍
Even though it took a few months for the news to come out, Ballas revealed to Access Hollywood that their band’s song, “Roses and Violets” inspired his plan.
He lined roses and violets up the driveway of their L.A. home (which took “forever” to get because they were out of season) and decorated the inside of the house in a Woodstock-inspired theme with vintage rugs and posters of her favorite bands.

But when the big moment came, the two-time Mirrorball champion came down with a case of stage fright. “When she got in there I froze. My heart was pounding. I was cool as a cucumber all day,” he explained. “I’ve been on stages my whole life, and when she walked in the room I was thought, ‘Whoa, here we go.’ So we kind of just held each other for a minute, and then I did the [one-knee] drop, I popped the question, she said yes. Everything went to plan and the way the house was decorated — it was just absolutely incredible.”

He even planned to have family and friends on-hand to help celebrate the big day. “They were all hiding upstairs in our bedroom and she had no idea,” Ballas said. “It was absolutely perfect.”
Between fellow pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd’s recent engagement and judge Julianne Hough‘s upcoming wedding to hockey player Brooks Laich, it’s going to be an extra-busy upcoming season for the DWTS stars.
