Barack Obama has already said that he has a lot in common with Jay-Z (noting they both have daughters and wives more popular than themselves). Now in the April issue of Vogue, he’s comparing wife (and the magazine’s cover star) Michelle to Beyoncé.
Why? Because she’s glad that his high-powered job required him to get more suits and lose the pair of khakis he’s had since he was 20. “Michelle’s like Beyoncé in that song,” he jokes. “‘Let me upgrade ya!’ She upgraded me.”
Also on his style team: daughters Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11. “The girls and I are always rooting when he wears, like, a stripe,” Michelle says. “They’re like, ‘Dad! Oh, you look so handsome. Oh, stripes! You go!'”
But her style philosophy remains the same: “I always say that women should wear whatever makes them feel good about themselves,” she says. “That’s what I always try to do.” And with a second Vogue cover under her belt, it appears to be working for her!
